I am amazed that the writers have no clue just how bad this is. I am also amazed at a renewal for season 8. This show was once must-see TV and now I feel like apologizing to my DVR for wasting it's valuable space. I don't even think this show can be saved, even if they "went back to their roots", united the core cast,

Slowly? I think rapidly. So sad.

Well, I'm hetro, so I guess I should be posting any where I can find on the net expressing my deep, personal agony when hetro characters are killed off. These are TV shows, people. Fantasy. I don't care what a character's sexuality is. I certainly don't justify mine based on how many fictional characters are on TV

This show has gone down hill so much since the earlier seasons which were really good. Season 8? Really?? One thing I've seen all over is the whole killing off gay or lesbian characters as being such a personal attack on gays/lesbians. Really? If it suits the story line of a show, and those are the characters to go,

Well, I have to say, I'm impressed with the writers. When the season started and Norman seemed to be spiralling into full psycho-mode, I was concerned that this show would lose its charm, and the empathy we felt for Norman would be compromised, but boy was I wrong!
This past episode was some of Freddie's best work.
    I

Wow. That was awesome. Now we're getting somewhere. I didn't feel things were too much or moving too fast - I thought it was perfect. Awesome Norma moments - man, that lady will play the denial card right to the last second, but also Vera played the pain and fear so realistically. Mental illness is a very real thing,

I have been following the av club vampire diaries for years now and have enjoyed reading the reviews and the comments, and have never felt motivated to add my two cents until now, but wow - this show stinks!!! Elena past season 3 was bad, and got worse season by season, and I'm sick to death that we are still not rid

Good point! I forgot about Norman's imagination. I wonder when he's going to graduate from bathrobe to flowery dresses? It's creepy to see him do the dress up and he does a great "Norma", but hopefully not at the expense of Vera getting screen time.

Well, I would agree that this was not the best start and the writing does need some help, but I'm willing to give this show a chance. I saw the original Omen when it first came out (hated and therefore forgot the movies that followed - oh, no! does that mean I have amnesia?!?) so maybe I'm giving this a chance based

Don't beat yourself up over it……you are obviously in a plane of existence way beyond the obvious.

Totally agree with you about the emma/Dylan story line at this point, although I like both of the characters. I also agree that this is a horror genre (to a point), but it has been so much more in the past 3 seasons. Relatable, human and slightly off-kilter characters with depth is what makes this show more of a

Ok, I'm so glad this awesome little show is back. But, this episode has made it pretty clear the game has changed for everyone. We will lose crazy pants Norma (which is sad), but we have to. She can no longer deny that Norman is a sick puppy, and the sicker he gets, the more grounded Norma will have to become. Having

We do NOT want to play with Bradley any longer than necessary.

I wondered what happened to Cupcake Tigerbeat and then I saw he is also a recurring character on The Returned, but he just had sex with a returned dead chick and died, so maybe he'll be back next season on bates

I disagree. Given the time pyscho was made (early 1960s), anthony's character was super creepy. The TV version is adapted for current time.

I could handle the return of Cody. Not my favorite character at all, and it was another poorly written stereotypical one, but at least that actress tried to breathe life into it.

That's the whole point. Have you even seen Psycho?

    Nope. Zzzzzzxzz

I want to go to White Pine Bay and dredge the bay. Road trip, anyone?

I agree! I found it somewhat weird too. I just chalked it up to that Norman is sexually attracted to Bradley and that pushed Norma(n) to lose her shit fast.
