House's Head/Wilson's Heart would've been the perfect series ender. House and Roseanne are my two biggest examples of shows that were great in their early seasons but then tarnished their legacies by not knowing when to quit. It was sad to see House decline from the biggest drama on TV, racking up Emmys and Critics

It's also a crime that Robert Sean Leonard never even got an Emmy nomination as best supporting actor. Especially for the whole Amber death arc (which BTW Anne Dudek deserved a guest nomination for as well).

I think the point about star vehicles was a bit jumbled in the roundtable. The thing about Hugh Laurie in House - or Kerry Washington in Scandal, or Benedict Cumberbatch in Sherlock, or Aaron Paul in Breaking Bad, etc. - is that those were relatively unknown or little-known actors who were then catapulted to stardom
