If the writing on this show were better I'd say there was some connection with Monica returning and Lip bottoming out on Helene's floor but I'm not sure they're going that deep.

I'm not saying that Pete Davidson cue card flub was intentional but maybe it was.

They both tackle problems related to being black in America head on with not so much an agenda as "this is how messed up things are" while still finding humor in it. I can see it.

The kid almost escaping a vicious cycle of drug abuse and a toxic relationship only to be dragged back in and end up worse than before was an extremely real problem.

After binge-watching the web series (I'd never seen an episode before last week) I'm fully on board with this show. I think it's a great companion to Atlanta right now. I like these shows that get in the face of real problems and situations while still having a sense of humor and not getting all sanctimonious about it.
