Yeah, I feel the same way. I am frustrated with how poorly Maggie has been written since her introduction to the show. I really liked the dynamic with her entering the hospital, but the stuff with her mother's illness and death was complete garbage and didn't link up at all the earlier scenes that described her family.

This looks great. I'm excited for it!

"Is it through having no kids with special needs? We served them anyway, but with this new scholarship in Wisconsin, more schools can serve them better. We're at 10%, which is below the 20% of the district but still significant. "

When the Cylons come, she'll be President.

Great read! Thank you for this!

It's really classic wytpipo to say, "Well, we had to choose between an Asian stereotype or casting a white person for the role, so…"

Good job, I enjoyed this piece.

Thanks for this piece. It really meant a lot to see many of my family's concerns with the show put vividly into print. I think it shows the real, concrete damage that is done to the quality of television art when there isn't sufficient diversity in the writer's room.

I love Alston's reviews, but it never ceases to amaze me that an African American female writer has completely taken over Thursday nights on a network channel and mostly AV Club can just come up with snipes about anyone liking this show.

It's not only not far fetched, it's basically what the current Mayor of Chicago did to get into office. A few million dollars to grease the courts is not a problem for Mellie, right?

Fix this:
Titled What Happened, Miss Simone?, the movie—unlike that Zoe Saldana-starring biopic, made in cooperation with Simone’s estate—will feature previously unheard audio tapes recorded over the span of three decades.

I understand it, I just don't like it.

Because being an excellent teacher is essentially the same thing as traveling in Doctor Who only less individually focused on one challenging student.

This episode is the aftermath of unfunny Chevy Chase's death. That's why it should have won.

Widely available in Chicago. Most likely far more available in UK.

No, that's not logic. I'm saying that particular use of magic was an outlier to further the plot.

Yeah, I can't see him doing that. If he did that, he could have just had the clear contender for the throne killed by a random shadow baby.

Cut the "even if he's unlikely to be able to do anything about it", it seems real ignorant. As if love can only be expressed with penises.
