From what I understand, Hannibal was only brought in as a psychiatrist to evaluate Will's eligibility for field work in the pilot. Their relationship since then has been nebulous because of the common experience that they went through with Allison's father.

Hannibal Lecter is a terrible person and psychopath, but damn if he doesn't have impeccable taste. His suits are tailored to soft shouldered perfection, the ties have incredible patterns and oh my gosh that study. I want a room that looks that nice at some point in my life.

I love that this kind of casting is becoming more common in dramas. Directors taking the audiences knowledge of an actor and their previous work and using that to enhance the new work is genius. Keri Russel in the Americans, Claire Danes in Homeland, Bryan Cranston in Breaking Bad - great choices all of them.

@DrMedicine:disqus Why does the bottom edge have to be outside? I'm pretty handy with tools when I have instructions, but I would not know to do that .

Well at least this is treatable in a very medical fashion. Autoimmune encephalitis simply means treatment with corticosteroids.

The version of encephalitis that Will has is autoimmune in nature. Since it's not caused by a pathogen, Hannibal's still in the clear to eat Will.

To be fair to everyone who slagged on it, it had all the things you associate with not great television - procedural element with a twist, gory murders, run on a network and so on. I get why everyone thought it might not be all that great.

Oh my gosh yes. I also totally shipped her and Davis together in season 2 instead of TK.

I know she's just being silly in this clip, but something about the way she dances still makes me feel all funny.

It all starts with Prisoner of Azkaban. I was 12 years old when it came out and remember watching the entire movie breath taken. I don't think I even noticed major plot points the first time around.

Aww, that must have come off as more serious that I expected. I was trying to be flippant about bad writers doing unnecessary silly things and both of the ones I know of being on NBC.

The only reason I clicked through is because of the title of the episode to see if other people were as bothered by that as I was. Taking great things and using them as episode titles for shows is starting become a bad NBC habit (the other example being an episode of Whitney titled The Wire).

I sometimes still can't believe she looks that good in Veep. It's stunning.

@davidkordahl:disqus I'd keep an eye out for missing mop handles.

@avclub-f900c211bceaaa9016dda3f017176e7a:disqus Mad Men x The Americans. I am ready for this.

Short shorts for swimming are actually a pretty modern choice now.

FNL is one of the shows that have actually made my cry, and Saracen and his grandmother were hard to say goodbye to. You're right that Gilford was amazing in that show, but unfortunately he hasn't landed any beefy roles since.

You're one of the few people I've come across who didn't totally love FNL after hearing about it and giving it a shot.

I am shocked at how much he's grown on me. In earlier episodes I kept thinking that he was only around as a side character for comic relief, but the fact that he's actually a key person in Sarah's life and of this show who just happens to be flamboyantly gay is great.
