Agreed that Beck's voice may have not been the best choice for that production…but it was Beck's baby. With that huge production, even Freddie Mercury would have been buried in the mix.

I've entertained the same thoughts. Then I look at his record club project or his incredible, massive cover version of Sound and Vision and it seems like a guy who just has mood swings. Both of those endeavors are pretty positive.
