She did take an unnecessary and rude potshot at football and MMA.

I loved that series, and never hear it mentioned in these discussions. I once picked up a Redwall book from Strand and as it turns out it was signed by Jaques. Pretty exciting stuff for a bookish tween.

I haven't seen it in a long while, but didn't the movie's ending differ from the third book and actually have Carrey's character die?

How dumb do you have to be to confuse the Dumb and Dumber prequel, Dumb and Dumberer, with the sequel, Dumb and Dumber To? Do we need to dumb down titles more for you?

That confused me as well, especially since it seems to imply that Dahl's macabre stories are for a younger (or less discerning?) audience than Snickett's or Gorey's works. Dahl's short stories such as "Pig" are far more thematically and creatively mature than Snickett's series. I was a huge fan of both authors growing…

Unfortunately, the same can't be said for his friend and collaborator Merle Haggard…

I'm guessing Portman will take it.

What a bad name for a band. That SNL clip is pretty uninspiring as well. The invites are pretty cool though.

I think it has more to do with the lead singer/producer not having much formal musical training, and just creating music that appeals to him, which often makes the music sound like a pastiche of other groups.

I'm in the same boat, actually, and didn't realize that it was "bite" until I had heard the song a dozen times. I think I prefer it as "like." The scene transition from the Range Rover to the mattress is confusing, too.

Also - they just released an EP with Mutemath that's pretty great.

Sure. I would say that they are a pretty great alternative pop group, but to each their own.

It's probably just the way he's lifting his arms, as it lifts his waistline up a few inches and makes him look wider.

It also (IIRC) holds the record of being the best-selling digital country song.

It might be until the Kidz Bop awards start.

Pretty sure it's the Rover that she can't afford.

It's a reference to an Arthur Miller play.

Their music is pretty diverse, so you should be able to find a song of their's that you like, unless you are completely opposed to them from the outset. "Car Radio", "Ode to Sleep," "Guns for Hands," and "House of Gold" are all phenomenal.

Don't let Joe Blevins see that incorrect curly quotation mark.

I've only listened to 2 and their DJ Shadow song, and based off of that I would say just skip them altogether. Half of their songs are just cringeworthy.
