There has definitely been a shift towards EDM, beginning with the whole Skrillex sensation back in 2010ish. I'm guessing the next change will be towards dancehall or world music inspired EDM, as we've already seen with the popularity of Major Lazer and Diplo, "Sorry" by Justin Bieber, and "One Dance" by Drake.

Man, this is so true. Last night the death of a good friend that happened almost two years ago hit me again, and I was shocked at how severely the grief struck me. Having just finished a tearjerker movie probably didn't help, but it's amazing how grief undulates.
