I met my wife at an ugly Christmas sweater party. Her sweater was shamefully pretty, and not at all befitting the theme.

It was a solid weekend. House of Heroes' new concept album Colors was finally released officially, and it's probably going to be my album of the year. Just a fantastic rock & roll record.

Hemingway's Shotgun, he's a tremendous guy. A real blast.

Speaking of Cloverfield, the final 20 minutes of 10 Cloverfield Lane could be cut without having a negative impact on the film, even though I enjoyed them.

I actually prefer the N64 controller to the Gamecube's. The PS4 controller is definitely an improvement, but it still doesn't compare to the Xbox's in my opinion. I do have big hands, so the length of the grips make a huge difference to me.The thumb sticks are in a much better spot on the Xbox, as well.

Playstation controllers are the worst in my opinion. The grips are tiny, the joysticks are in a terrible location, and the bumper buttons are awkward as well. The Xbox 360/One controllers are much more comfortable to hold and ergonomically friendly. The N64's controller is the runner-up.

I watched Bojack right when it came out with my roommate who had been seriously depressed at one point in his life, and so the transition from Family Guy-esque comedy to gut-punching character study was a complete surprise. By the end of the season, it felt like we had been on a journey together (along with Bojack).

The first five or six episodes are tough to get through upon your first viewing, but from then on the show is phenomenal.

It's so hard to convince adult professionals that a cartoon about a talking horse is one of the best shows out there and well-worth watching.

I bought The Orange Box about a month ago, and found that Portal balanced the two very well, as did Half-Life 2. The games don't always hold your hand, but the levels progress in a natural way that keeps the momentum and narrative going.

Suicide Squad just released "Heathens" by Twenty One Pilots, which is a pretty fantastic song that will probably be a hit.

Bridge of Spies was a solid movie that felt a little too obvious and predictable. Rylance was great in it, though.

Does anyone consider Kanye more than a punchline rapper though? He knows how to create tweetable rhymes, but he's not a good rapper in most songs. His production is on point, though, at least when he's constrained by another producer (e.g. Jon Brion).
