The dinosaur was named after the paleontologist who first discovered it — Sue Hendrickson — who quickly told Larson about it.

Kristin Donnan is Peter Larson's ex-wife. Perhaps the reason for that had something to do with her observation that Larson and the dinosaur "were made for each other."
