I'm amazed this is being released so soon here and simultaneously with China (apparently in Hong Kong it's only being released next week). Not even sure that it was screened at any movie festival in the world yet.

I see. Whenever I don't see an actor I like for a few years and he suddenly resurfaces, I just assume he did theatre.

I never saw Watching Ellie, to be honest. I only remember it from its strange retooling story.

Maybe you're thinking of Watching Ellie, another JLD sitcom?

Old Christine was clearly a 'Til Death case of a show being dragged until the minimum amount for syndication.

Those jokes about them being attracted to each other were terrific.

I always thought The New Adventures of Old Christine was underappreciated. Maybe for being on CBS and a multi-cam people just instantly disdained it, but it was actually quite fun, even if it didn't set the world on fire or anything. Louis-Dreyfus is a powerhouse and the show proved that again and again (even if not

I'm quite surprised to see such a positive piece on the guy. He was lambasted so mercilessly for his last films by most critics (to such an extreme that some even turned against his older, acclaimed films) that I figured people were over him by now. I never tried watching Life During Wartime or Dark Horse in fear that

Obviously, she'll get busted for the panties business and get a larger sentence.

Why would you skip it if it's pretty fucking great?

You would probably just feel sad that Foster is not doing Bunheads and is instead doing a role that is no challenge whatsoever for a powerhouse like her (though you'd also feel a tiny bit happy that somewhere on your television, there's Sutton Foster available whenever you need her).

In other words: you want Omar Little.

That happens quite a bit in the TV section as well, showrunners dropping by to interact with fans (The Goldbergs and Awkward are the ones that come to mind, but I'm sure there are others).

Hopefully paired with Veep for that throwback 90's block we've all been waiting for HBO to do.

MacKenzie hasn't convinced me yet. Certainly not bad, but only his hand on casting seems worth of notice. I'll give it to him that he is growing (Starred Up is far and away his best film) and I think he could get there eventually. Perfect Sense is a pretty by the numbers apocalyptic romance, perhaps even a bit

Still can't tell whether you're Ashton Kutcher or a gimmick account and I know I wouldn't even be considering either option were I not in the AV Club.

They improved a few things, particularly Louis and Jessica as a couple, but the humor became blander. Jessica and Louis got stranded in a lot of generic sitcom plots and the writers still can't make any of those school plots work. I also feel they pushed too much for every episode to have a cute/heartwarming

So, this is the end for me. As with most ABC comedies, I will forever sympathize and root for the success of this show and I love all the actors and the characters (particularly adorable little Evan), maybe even watch a random episode from time to time, but I won't watch it weekly anymore. Season 2 just felt a step

"especially after they’ve revealed a fall schedule with only one female-led drama (Madam Secretary)"

Woah, that was a reach, haha. Totally didn't think of that one.
