I listened to all these songs and I had trouble even getting through some of them. I guess AVClub writers aren't on the same page as me.

I've never even heard of this movie. It looks nightmarish.

I think the AV Club writers always try to get some kind of insight out of the guest about the song, but few guests ever provide anything more than "this song is annoying to me."

I just saw these guys open for The Black Dahlia Murder at a dive club in Oklahoma City last week. Had no idea who they were, but the lead singer threatened to beat the shit out of a drunk kid on the front row who kept slapping him. That was pretty fun.

Kevin Bacon's "Death Sentence" is also bascially a remake of Death Wish.

It looks a lot more like The Dissolve now…
