Actually they're both fantasy with science fiction elements. Some episodes of Star Trek TOS might qualify as science fiction, but the franchise has been converted to pretty much action fantasy with technobabble over time. Star Wars started out as action fantasy. Neither have plots which follow from a reasonable set…
