The director relinquishes control when he/she accepts remuneration and financing. That product then becomes the property of the purchaser. If I purchase a painting. I can paint over it, sell it, or throw it away.
If a director wants complete control go make home movies or finance and distribute the film yourself.

A wonderful aspect of VidAngel is that it allows you to edit without deleting the scene. I can silence certain words without missing the scene. It also allows you to cut scenes depicting nudity or violence at the level you wish. You would be surprised what can be edited without diminishing the storyline.

How can I demand? I cannot make the studios release anything they do not wish.
I can spend my hard earned money on entertainment I value and not spend it on entertainment I don't. It's up to them if they want to capture those dollars or not.

Of course they know the words - those words and content are abundantly available to them. But just because ice cream is available, it doesn't mean you should eat it at every sitting. I like having a choice. You and I just have different values, and that's ok.

The studios should allow Apatow "not" to make movies the audiences want; get somebody else to direct. Having a service like VidAngel opened up wonderful movie choices for my family.
