I'm with you. Even Spacy's intensity seems to be dwindling. I don't think it's the comparison to real-world events so much as just uninspired writing that relies too much on the same things over and over.

It would be nice if you'd offer a proper criticism of the show rather than simply a synopsis, complete with your political views neatly inserted. You didn't offer one subjective opinion about the direction of the show, it's believability or the quality of the acting.
