And her sweeeet can.

Prince of Thieves gets a bad rap. Yes, Costner is inappropriately serious, but the rest of the production knows how silly it all is and the overall effect is a fun swashbuckler.

The Nazis in Star Wars have British accents, presumably a nod to the US beating Britain and Germany in WW2.

Thanks Dawson's Creek!

The movie must be one the biggest wastes of a lead actor ever. I guess by calling it 'Legend' they were signposting how shallow it was going to be.

I once saw a clickbait ad for a site which promised to reveal all the stars' favorite colors.

I'll take the blame.

So who's playing who?

I've never read a book that goes off the rails as much as The Goldfinch does. If I was being charitable I'd say that represented the protagonist's life spiraling out of control, but really Tartt just lets the story run away from her. The final couple of hundred pages are excruciatingly bad.

This sounds like an excuse that saves face for the filmmakers, when in reality Bale got cold feet about the production. I love Michael Mann as much as anyone, but he hasn't exactly wowed in recent years.

I always felt like he was severely autistic. We have no reason to think he hasn't been this way all his life.

I love the book this is based on, but still have a bad feeling about this. It's a vanity project about a vanity project.

After True Detective I think Kitsch is done, actually. No-one will ever give him a lead role again, at least.

There was a brief moment, probably around Die Hard 4, when Mary Elizabeth Winstead was the next big thing but it didn't really pan out. That seems to happen a lot more with female actors than male ones.

I like the way the most used promo still for this is the one with a character mistakenly looking at the camera.

He's a film critic so I quite reasonably judged him on his reviews first and foremost. The books are an academic, extra curricular activity.

As a Brit I too don't understand the cult of Ebert. I've seen at least as many groan-worthy reviews from the guy as well-considered ones.

It was a Channel 4 show. Yup, the UK has non-BBC channels.

Never watched it, but I actually credit DC (not something I say often) with knowing the right medium for such a character.

Winter Soldier was great until it lost its nerve and had the Everything Explodes finale. Seems to be a staple of superhero films.
