You said 'First of all' but there was no point after your first one? I need closure on that anecdote!!

And 'literally' can now mean 'figuratively'.
"Instead, a statistic about the number of students expelled for sexual assault versus the number expelled for cheating flashes by quickly, amidst a
barrage of other damning factoids"
Phrasing.
Yes, it was a strikingly unprofound question. I've been to NZ and Kardashian's face is plastered all over their magazine stands too, sadly.
Huh. I didn't know it was possible to dislike the Kinks' version. I thought it was about as close to perfection as a 2 minute pop song could get.
He's one of those directors you often take for granted, but if you look at his body of work it stacks up with almost anyone still making films today.
Boyhood isn't locked for Picture - Birdman's won a important precursor awards for it. And rightly so IMO.
Yup, if anything they're anti-blockbuster.
I liked the film enough, but as far as the multiple years filming gimmick went I maintain you'd have the same effect if you watched all the Harry Potters in a row and edited out the titles and credits.
It wasn't as bad as everyone said, but Jackson was awful in it. In fact he's been awful in many things recently.
It depends - you push that 'fearsomeness' too far and suddenly it becomes highly stylized and unrelatable. Batman's frailty is surely a big party of his mythos.
Then worry no more: based on other award wins the Best Picture race is between Boyhood and Birdman and nothing else.
In fairness the guy's music is a cell phone marketing exec's dream.
I disagree. I recently listened to a mixtape that spanned their entire career and the early stuff really compliments the latter. As pop it holds up and the evolution from one style to another is the icing on an already delicious cake.
"So basically you're saying that all adult YA readers are
undiscriminating morons who read solely for wish-fulfillment and can't
handle 'real' literature?"
I read the recent Pitchfork interview with him and he's clearly into playing up his own mythology. A few years ago I might have bought into it but now it feels like an annoying distraction from what's a pretty good album.
Correct. I love both bands, but Teen Spirit doesn't sound like Debaser (the song Cobain claimed to have ripped off) in any meaningful sense. The latter has a deceptively complex structure.
The Hollies actually sued Radiohead due to the similarities between Creep and Air That I Breathe. As such, Albert Hammond (yes, the Dad of the Strokes guitarist) and Mike Hazelwood are co-credited for writing the song. The chord progressions definitely overlap, but the mood of the songs are so different it seems…
If that's true, then great. In hindsight my appreciation of BB didn't go much beyond desperately wanting to know what happened next, which probably explains why I don't feel inclined to rewatch it anytime soon.
