I'd just like Quinn to have a good reason to be there at all. He's done bugger all the last few episodes despite his inclusion being a big plot point in the beginning.

It's justified, I think. It was a good episode that went full retard at the last minute.

I don't think that was a studio thing. Nolan clearly isn't afraid of a mushy ending (though in that film's case I didn't really have a problem with it).
