I grabbed the dvd of Emmet in the check-out line at a grocery store years ago and have never regretted that impulse purchase. It's a great movie, not too sappy and the music is awesome. Another great one, Muppet Family Christmas, is currently on youtube in it's entirety.

Howl's would've been so much better if they'd just followed the book and not added all the war stuff. It's a cute story about a bumbling woman who gets turned into an old lady and an egotistical wizard with a fire demon. It should've stayed that way. And Billy Crystal should never have let near the dubbed version.

I didn't even know it was possible to pronounce Quincy incorrectly. What's more important is if they pronounce Peabody correctly.

Having grown up near Manchester by the Sea there are a few things that bug me about the previews and how they represent the area. Manchester by the Sea is much more white collar mansion than blue collar fishing town. Affleck's accent is much more South Boston than North Shore, which in very few places sounds like the

Too many by Sufjan and Explosions in the Sky to name. Others:

I think it wasn't until a few years ago that Predatory Wasp really hit me, even after listening to the album for years. Those are my favorite "goosebump" songs- the ones you've listened to for years but out of nowhere just punch you in the guts.

As a vegetarian all meals are terrible. They lump all the allergies into one, so I get non-dairy spread, gluten free crackers, and most of the time some weird bean salad or curry. You know what isn't great on a long flight where you're already bloated? Beans.

I couldn't believe how terrible Airbender ended up. I walked out of the midnight showing and got a call from my friend who had seen it in another city, who was so angry she had to talk to me. The rage was palpable across the entire audience.

That was also the Lost plan.

There have actually been arguments made that the Witch Trials were over property disputes AND/OR PTSD from the Indian (Native American?) raids that happened around that time.

"Plea from a cat named virtue" is actually really upbeat, it's the "Virtue the Cat Explains Her Departure" that will have you curled up in a fetal position.

There are certain Weakerthans songs that make me cry pretty easily (Virtue the Cat, oof), so I'd imagine I'd have a similar reaction to a live show.

Happy Monday to me. As someone who never got to see the Weakerthans live, I really hope Samson does a tour for this so I can get something close.

Let's just do this for Wes Anderson movies:
The Who "A Quick One While He's Away" from Rushmore
Nico "These Days" or The Clash "Police and Thieves" from Tenenbaums (I have never been able to sit through the "Needle in the Hay" scene and always fast forward)
The Kinks "This Time Tomorrow" Darjeeling
    All of Seu Jorge

Injection went from "this is a garbled mess and I have no idea what's going on" to "oh, this is actually getting really cool" very quickly.

I wish Mad Men had got best drama last year instead of GoT. This season of GoT was far better than last, leaps and bounds above it (except Hard Home).

My neighborhood was full of adults playing while walking their dogs last night. I think it's pretty much across the board, age-wise.

It was, it definitely came out before the album did. I hated "Somebody Told Me," but then the college station near me played a few more tracks from the album right before it was released, including "Mr. Brightside," and I was hooked.

Man, Taste of Chaos still exists? Went to that about 14 years ago. It's pretty much a small version of Warped Tour.

This has happened so many times, I don't understand why HBO hasn't fixed the problem. I was so frustrated, couldn't watch it until well after the episode aired.
