My first exposure to Star Trek was during a rained-out family vacation in the early 1970s, soon after the show went in syndication. Stuck in a small beach house, we caught "The Trouble with Tribbles" on a tiny rabbit-eared TV. You couldn't ask for a better introduction. My dad was so excited, because he loved the show

If nothing else — and I do mean nothing else — at least this show lived up to it's name.

Since Cameron had finally learner her lesson, I had a momentary, fleeting hope that Gordon had too — and put nothing but empty boxes in the truck. But no … still, as it made zero difference to the denouement, I guess it doesn't matter.

Just three words for you: Howard. The. Frickin' Duck.

Yeah well, I got a brand new pair of rollerskates

"Super Bow" — I'd watch that!

Ira Glass.

When it's not being funny or encyclopedic, Melville's epic is pure gothic horror, on par with anything Shelley or Stoker wrote, and Cthulhuesque decades before H.P. Lovecraft. Seriously — I'm still waiting for someone to make a horror movie out of Moby Dick.

Are there enough rabid fans of The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions, to even break deals over? I didn't think there was anyone out there (other than weekend programmers on SPIKE TV) who like those sequels.

RIP #NBC. Cause of death: dumbfuckery

First Star Trek, now #Community? Suck my Disqus #NBC. That's the last cookie we ever buy from you.

More 2001 referency goodness: HAL was "IBM" transposed one letter to the left
(and deliberately so by Kubrick and Clarke).

Add to the h/t to 2001: HAL is "IBM" transposed one letter to the left (and deliberately so). So it's appropriate the machine that is supposed to control things is installed in this episode

Word is the cast didn't know the character was going to be killed off either — obviously they knew McLean Stevenson was leaving, but apparently Gary Burghoff was handed the note to read just before the final scene was shot.

Agents of SHIELD is making "Howard the Duck" look good.

This review gets an A+ (exclamation point)
