I think there are plenty of worse seasons. The only problem for me is that this season is sort dull. Other seasons have been dull AND they've had players that made my skin crawl. There's no Brandon or Colton or Na'onka or half of Redemption Island on this season's cast. Glass half-full! I guess.

there’s a point at which you need to embrace Survivor as an emotional game

I haven't watched The Talking Dead since the Marilyn Manson episode, haven't read the comics, and it was still pretty obvious to me that they were his family. And I'm not even a scientist.

I was surprised at how moving and emotional this episode turned out to be. Michael Cudlitz is a fantastic actor and so is the guy who plays Eugene. And finally Rosita is beginning to become an actual character. Great episode! This season has been awesome.

That's an interesting perspective, looking behind the edit and at interviews. I guess I am looking at it from the 'edit perspective' or whatever. At the narrative actually presented. Which may often be false, I can see that for sure. But from the edit Colby is made out to be, in his own passive way, the leader - with

Poor Colby, replaced by Mariano. Probst is heartless and fickle when it comes to his bromances.

I'd say that Colby was the leader of that tribe, although he never claimed the title. He brought the two sides together (Tina/Keith and Jerri/Amber) and he was the deciding factor whenever things got switched up. Players went to him.

Person 30: Jeff Probst, his dream finally coming true. And then first out.

if the main goal in preparing them is to show them how to win, then

I'm looking forward to more Josh vs. Jeremy next episode. But I'm not looking forward to it too, because then the season will lose one of its few interesting players, no matter who wins that battle.

I think Nicaragua is half great and half terrible. I really loved it pre-merge. Post-merge, especially with the double quit… horrible. The horror, the horror.

I saw no problem with them taking it. It's not like she bought it. That food was for everyone and she's just an entitled hoarding quitter, ugh.

THANK YOU! you have uplifted my spirits. She played a fantastic game.

I fast-forwarded through all of the therapy scenes so the episode wasn't so bad for me.

Strange episode. I was reminded of a certain kind of 70s exploitation horror film, the kind that has oddly passive heroines and a weird dreamlike story. The music and the way the interior of the hospital was shot and then the brief exterior scene too… so 70s. Strange episode, but I loved it and didn't think it was

I was so perplexed that I googled the phrase, just in case I was missing something. And nope, nothing came up.

Some of my best friends are crackers!

I love this post.
Although for some reason I don't hate Baylor. It's a mystery even to me.

Ha!

It's like Keith's hidden immunity idol also gives him the power of invisibility.
