Actually "Dong" might be either Đông (east / winter / crowded /…) or Đồng (copper / field / VN currency / …) which are both fairly common names in Vietnam.
(I've just realized Dong Nguyen is also the name of the guy who made the Flappy Birds app. His proper VNese name is Đông).

As a Vietnamese, I was baffled by this particular joke. Kim-mi is definitely not a VNese slang for genitalia. "Chim" is, but it is not pronounced like Kim at all. 'ch' is pronounced as in 'church'.
