They have flirted with the idea a bit. NES Remix being the newest example. They also released a version of NES Donkey Kong with all four arcade stages in Europe a couple of years ago. I have not tried a Retron 5 yet. Since NOACs (Nintendo-on-a-chip) have been in the market for the past 10-15 years, their quality has greatly improved, but it may be impossible for them to ever be 100% accurate.

No mention of playing games on original hardware, or new hardware lines that play original software like the retron series or the Atari Flashback?
