Between his eyebrows and his always having to have his foot up on something in a pirate stance…someone elsewhere suggested this is just a cheap toss to the fans desperate to get a look up his kilt, and I wouldn't put it past the boys to make him do that.

Did they explain that and I kept missing it? Why would he keep going closer? Did it really matter at that time what the range was? It seemed like a waste of time within the episode.

Or vibrators.

My theory - they can't separate the characters from the actors, and they want to have sex with Sam. As the story is mostly told from Claire's POV, they feel like they would be vicariously having sex with Sam through Caitriona. I would be surprised if any of the shipper nutters are straight men, but I suppose if there

Dougal betraying Colum and the rest of the MacKenzies by running off to join Jamie and the Frasers at all is hard enough to believe, but I can't accept that Dougal is just going to put up with all this smack down from Jamie. I get that he wants to fight for the Stuarts, but this is all too much to swallow - the show

I see- you have a learning disability and can't read. I'll stop making fun of you then.

I put that all under the category of "Dougal's Ridiculous Plot Line"

That goes back to what I mean; in the source material, Claire is funny herself (along with thr funny J&C moments that have been entirely cut out of the show). So, the showrunners apparently didn't think that would work, but they still wanted to insert comic relief and thus was spawned this version of Angus.

Yes, sexist. Why else would some dude have to make reference to our gender when we don't agree with you? You've done it on multiple threads now.

I don't know if it was that they didn't have faith in Sam or Caitriona being able to deliver those humorous moments, or if the writers weren't capable of translating them for the screen or if - Most Likely - Ron and his boys thought Outlander needed a little more slapstickiness.

I'd salivate more if he walked around shirtless more frequently- it would balance out the unsexy hobbit hair. I was so hoping they'd finally get his hair out of his face for this episode. Actually, I had really hoped he would chop his hair off for the duel. I forget how hot he is until I see pics of him with better

That would have helped
Not sorry :)

Agreed! I am impressed with how good he is.

Nope; Caitriona is not a good actor. If it makes you feel any better, I don't really think Sam is that great of an actor any more either.

So glad we have the sexist asshat Gio here to tell us that as women, our opinions aren't as valid as his is.

I gag every time I read someone referring to Diana as "Herself." They are making me bulimic.

Agreed- would have been nice to see him back at the infirmary for those scenes instead of having him be one of the injured Dougal decides to execute.

Those fans, plus the rabid shippers…. do they all feel like they are vicariously f****** Sam and/or Caitriona? They are like teenagers obsessed with some pop star but taken up about a thousand notches.

Ahhhhh so that's why this one was more palatable than the others :)

The story IS the love story set against everything else. The showrunners managed to miss that.
