It's one of those movies where there is a lot of violence, but the worst thing is probably what happens to an animal (in this case, a cow.) But it's visually amazing and has some of the best sound design I've heard in any movie, so yeah.

She is a friend of some acquaintances (I've never met her) so I am curious to read Tampa. I read some excerpts on Amazon and fainted dead away (not really.)

This is a better movie than The Searchers imo. Less tacked on comic relief and romantic subplots, more guys on horses riding through majestic landscapes.

No, not really. (about the Battle Royale thing, it is a great movie.)

It's bad enough being known as the director of shitty comedies, but the cinematographer? There's not enough coke in Hollywood to dull the pain.
