Not my place to comment on the deeper social issues, so I'll just say Deon Cole is officially my favorite part of Black-ish.
I also thought he was the best part of Conan during the years I watched that show (2010-ish?) and glad to finally see him in a more prominent role.

So… The "return" of Blackish recaps lasted two weeks, then??

I really hope Santa brings the AV Club a proofreader this year.
I know the past nine years he's only brought coal (and something called "Supper Club"), but hey, a website can dream.

I'm not sure how anyone with reasonable expectations for late-period Simpsons wouldn't appreciate this episode. Strong A-story, solid pacing, lots of jokes, and even a musical number that pushes the plot!

Anyone else agree that The Jam's "Town Called Malice" was the best music cue this show has ever done?
Granted, 99% of their music cues are generic turgid fake-grunge ballads in the "creepy blues" style, but still.

Cool story bro.

I think Janet just became my second favorite scene-stealing character on current comedies, right behind Captain Raymond Holt.

It's the one where ol' Flo raps badly in annoying fashion.

So TWD really ripped off the "happy family dinner" fantasy from Mr. Robot?
Okay….

Just confirmation the entire universe hates Hardwick.

Oh Glenn… Where was a dumpster when you really needed one??

Chris Hardwick's attempts at portraying "sadness" are about as bad as you'd expect from a guy who traffics in snark and snark alone.
They really need to replace him on the Talking Deads where cast members get murdered.

Congrats TWD. The "two-for-the-price-of-one" head bashing was surprising, even for a comics reader.
Who else was kinda rooting for the fantasy sequence of Negan bashing in the brains of the entire cast to not be fantasy?

Because it still beats Big Bang Theory?

If it's not a prank phone call CD or someone he hang out with persońally, it's not worth owning!!

I would just settle for Braugher actually WINNING the damn Emmy.
For the first time.
No offense to Tony Hale.

Except it was "No Surprises."

Intensely satisfying season, and finale. This show is not only one of the best dramas out there, but possibly the only one where most of the action derives simply from characters talking. (Aside from the Cameron/Joe hookup and the Joe/Tom fight, all the other fireworks over two hours were simply verbal.)
And yes,

Where do you keep going?
Not saying.
Tell me Diaz.
Nope.
C'mon. Tell me.
Not talking about it.
Tell me tell me tell me tell me tell me tell me—
Fine. I was in the bathroom. I'm having stomach problems.
…oh. Okay. Sorry.
It's real bad.
No that's alright—
Should've been there.
I don't have to hear it—
It was like a massacre.
No you
