A lot of people do seem to have missed it—her contributions to the events of the finale were significant but not telegraphed with big (laughably bad) fight scenes or excessive emoting.  She just quietly did her thing, then disappeared.  I think we're supposed to be left very up in the air where Lauren is concerned.
