Because Redd wasn't actually added. His casting was mistakenly reported in some early posts but very quickly corrected—except by then the AV Club and other sites had already run with the news themselves and haven't looked back to make any corrections.

Haenel is also quite great in Céline Sciamma's underseen debut Water Lillies.

dark horse pick for best line of the episode: "I love cashews they're the elite nut"

Great piece, wish someone from Beat Happening had offered up some words but I get why it might be best for Calvin Johnson to keep a low profile right now. K Records' current state sorta contradicts the ideals in the book, it sounds like. Been planning to read it this year, this article might be the shove I need to go

Thanks for those recs, I've been getting into X and the Screamers lately and have been trying to find some reading material to accompany them with

the "say 'dead man walking'" thing being spread over walkie by an AD was entirely too real

does knowing that Harris Wittels, the creator of the word and author of the book, came to not really like the proliferation of the term either before tragically passing away under a year ago soften the crushing blow at all?

between the dissolve/grantland/cokemachineglow closing I've been pushed to read avc more and face just how atrociously boring the tastes of the commenting majority on regular features like Hear This and Watch This are. surprises me that anyone who is deeply compelled to respond to any media featuring a mildly

Pretty certain the photos are staged, not photoshopped— JGL and Rogen ones are both on the Sony lot likely while they were finishing The Night Before, so I'm assuming Abso Lutely reached out to some friends and asked if they'd fake a paparazzi photo for fun.

After finding the first episode merely pleasant, I thought this episode was fantastic. It was plain funny, on par in laughs for me with Workaholics. More straight-up laughter than pretty much any show on right now. Here's hoping it's not a fluke and it continues to get better and better.

-In your Tegan and Sara section you call Arcade Fire "The Arcade Fire" which is hilarious not just because it's wrong but because I call it that with some friends as a joke because of how ridiculous it sounds.
-Smash Mouth is two words.

I don't think he is either. He's taking this all too seriously. He should realize a couple things about the show: -Nathan's said that none of the businesses he helps are in danger of wholly collapsing. They're not on the brink of destruction and he's not pushing them over the edge. -The businesses purportedly hear the

It was in the same episode as the skydiving and the funeral home. Definitely one of the best of the show.

It was surprising how often the show became practically unreal through gags like the turtle business card. Or the spy arcade cabinet/native american statue.

Oh man it really did slip my mind. That should be on there.

Stylistically there weren't really any running jokes, and most of the humor in the usual episode of this show is fairly self-contained. I think the finale would still be plenty enjoyable without having seen the rest (and it clearly was for you) but that ending/cliffhanger with the flashbacks to the rest of the show,

FINALLY. Took ya long enough, AVC.

WOMP UP THE JAMZ!!

It's only had the one episode, but Podmass should officially check out Getting On with James Urbaniak. The first episode about insomnia was a perfect abstract short story. Dryly amusing.
