My point was that making the false equivalency presented above distracts from the conversation, because the conversation is not about gun control, its about a cartoon we all sat down and watched. What's yours again and how is it on topic / actually contributing to the conversation?

I disagree. I took the vanishing "Reality" after speaking with Butters while he was going mad was the implication that Social Media =/= reality.

When the first comment says "driven to mental illness or even suicide by it" you don't get to drop a retort that addresses it into the same bucket of excuses the NRA folks do when 12 people are killed.
