I might be mistaken, but the 70's were like, a barrage of highest grossing films. "The Godfather", then "The Exorcist", then "Jaws", then finally "Star Wars".
So, on top of being considered the creative high-point of Hollywood, it was also one of their most lucrative decades as well.
God, that must've been a great

"ooooooh, watch out folks. Looks like we've got a member of the 'badass' species over here."

Lovejoy…. find her.

I don't know what those folks at BBC do, but even the grumpiest of stars seem to be completely comfortable and having fun when they're on Graham Norton. Those damn Brits! Being classier than America even at stuff that America pretty much invented.

Except that a lot (and I do mean "a lot") of people part of this very generation seem to share that feeling as well. Go to any youtube video from AC/DC, The Beatles, or any other old rock band, read the comments, and 90% of it will be kids and teenagers saying they wish they were born in the 60's/70's/80's and that

Lucas came up with the universe, and props to him for that, but he is treated as a joke because the prequels opened people's eyes to the fact that George Lucas is a fucking terrible director and a mediocre-at-best screenwriter. The first Star Wars had the magic of novelty, but it had pretty abysmal direction, and a

Hawkwind, as in Lemmy's old band? Wow……. well, I guess he'd approve.

I think Order 66 was pretty good too, but I can see why other people didn't.
But yeah, I agree with you, though.

"Director of the TWO highest-grossing movies in North America." Titanic is still firmly in #2 (well, #3 now, I guess) and every day it earns my respect more and more, for being a 3-hour long, historical romantic drama, made 20 years ago, that has somehow sustained every Harry Potter, Fast and Furious and Marvel movie

They're….. kinda cute… I guess.
Folks like "kinda cute", I suppose.

You mean she got to see Vivien Leigh, with tears in her eyes, looking out into thousands of people proudly waving the Confederate flag, as the Time Magazine report of the premiere says it went?
I mean, it's cool for the historical significance of the movie itself but, otherwise……..

But not enough slaves.

Men in Black, maybe.

Harrison Ford looked like he gave a shit for the first time in years (decades?). That's enough to earn a medal, in my book. (But, naturally, only for him. No medal for Chewbacca.)

What else would they be talking about?

Just to answer, no irony intended here. "Return of Kings" is the actual MRA. "We Hunted the Mammoth" is the mocking. Both are equally embarassing, but at least one is being so on purpose (even though I doubt MRA's can tell the difference).

The internet is dark and full of horror, my friend. Unspeakable horror.

And 9gag. Don't forget 9gag.

Laughed out loud in the second paragraph.

You're complaning about lack of scientific accuracy? In a Star Wars movie? You realize it's "Star WARS", not "Star TREK", right? And that there's a difference between science-fiction (the latter) and a fairy-tale set in space (the former), right?
