She apparently spent a whole year reading pilots and was the most sought after actress on network TV so I'm pretty sure there was typecasting involved which is why she was so hellbent on getting cast in GLOW, a role which is very different to the polished and refined characters she generally plays.

I think she deserves a nom based on that scene alone.. absolutely nailed it.

Brie seems to be on a roll lately… GLOW has received largely positive reviews from critics and her performance in particular has been praised, rightly so and now The Little Hours also seems to be getting decent to good reviews.

How is she a hypocrite ? There is also context to why she did photoshoots back then and she's been very open about it.

I've heard that it gets better over the course of the season… the mid and last part of the season is when it truly shines but so far I'd say the build up to that part of the season has been definitely worth it.

I've watched 4 episodes so far and it's really a great mix of comedy and drama, more former than latter but it's an over the top show with heart to it.

To be fair she did have BJ Horseman as a steady gig before this and has been doing a few indie movies too.

She;'s also signed on for Spielberg;'s next project "The Papers" and has "The Disaster Artist" slated for release too.. there's definitely a brienaissance happening and it makes me excited ; )

This show has been getting glow-ing reviews all around even though this review is more on the side of cautiously positive.

Actually I do remember that Annie was 19 in one episode of Season 2( the episode where she and Jeff stand for election ) while Troy was revealed to be 21 a few episodes earlier ( remember he did 5th grade twice ) so there is supposed to be just over a year's gap between Annie and Troy.

Nope, Troy was 21 in Season 2 and Annie was younger than him in the show.

Yup, also she was the most sought after actress on network TV in the latest pilot season where she wouldnt have had to go nude but chose to go with a Netflix drama which is somethjng very different to what she usually does so of course it's not about the nudity but the source material.

Yes that's exactly it. The fact that she clarified that she wasn't asked to go totally topless and yet brought it up shows that it was the way the producers acted that bothered her, it must have been creepy and douchy.

And she still doesn't nearly get enough recognition for her talent. For me, the most underrated actress of this generation.

After the article came out she clarified that the gay story was something she embellished for comedic purposes for some magazine and that she was also friends with the guy, they actually still laughed about the incident years after.

" All I want to do right now is give Ms. Brie the most empowering, non-objectifying hug of support that I can.

Ironically this kind of article makes the rounds ahead of her new show GLOW where she actually has gone nude ( not a rumor folks, it's true ) so it's obvious she doesn't have a problem with nudity but I'm sure she wasn't told prior to the audition in this case that the role required nudity ( IF it even did ) which is

Alison Brie is extremely underrated as an actress. Yeah I know the first thought that would come to you when one mentions her name would be her looks but she's an example of someone whose looks have overshadowed her talents.
For me, she has incredible range and has given great performances in every genre.. be it

Not my type of show but Alison Brie… so I gotta give it a shot at the very least ; )

It's important to distinguish between "playing to the audience" and being candid in your thought process.
