I'm a few episodes in and my main thing with this show is that it doesn't do anything that the other three haven't done better. It really should have leaned into the kung fu movie style and gotten a little weird with it, it just seems lost especially with how different the other three have managed to feel.
I'm more

this I think is where we get into the murky waters of art as a product, with a specific purpose vs. art for the sake of making it, telling a story. Maybe you don't even view them as art, because it is certainly subjective, but its an interesting argument regardless. are the hours of thought/consideration put in by

But then is anything based on a preexisting story inherently thoughtless ?

This isn't meant as a slight against Dowd, more at how this usually goes. I really get tired of "the surprisingly thoughtful" take on a 'superhero movie'. I feel like we've had enough of just truly great ones to take them seriously, or at the very least not be surprised that they can be.

Welcome to Hospital break.

So.. not the cat?

Now this make me wanna holler.

I know you are but what am I ?
Oh right, you told me, thanks.

I will never understand how a show/movie is deemed "complicated". Is it because there isn't a scene-setting line of expositional dialogue after ever camera cut and commercial break? Is it because we have to put our phone down during it? It's a fucking story, watch it, or don't.

I disagree with the notion that Oreos and Doritos don't have something significant to say about society & humanity.

Just wait until we're collectively over it after a so-so season two !

This is good rock and roll uh.. music.

One thing I've always wished for the show is for it to have time for both the bits and the couch scenes, too often one overpowers the other. I'm excited to have the two-part episode next week to see if it makes a difference.

I was blown away at how they managed to just make consistently, horrible, "classic" sitcom jokes for the whole Love Boat bit.

I hadn't seen it yet, and I wanted to make 2016 worse for myself.
No one was exaggerating, it was truly, truly an awful piece of shit.
It was every criticism any highbrow critic has ever levelled at genre filmmaking, especially superhero films. Leto was not playing playing the Joker, he was playing The Meme-ster.

I hope they find a very visual director who the already brazenly over-the-top, ankle deep metaphorical message of the work complete flies over his head.

Side-note, we are overdue for a Herbie movie and I want Pixar to take the reins on that.

Reading Leonard Cohen's novel 'Beautiful Losers'. It really is something. It's very experimentally written, and even by todays standards, borderline lewd pornography.

Lithgow is playing James Bond?
