That was such a gross scene. The fact that there are people who ship those characters based on it…*shudders*

I think I've only seen two episodes of Arrow before this, and some partials, and every glimpse has made me glad I don't watch the show.
I thought this was incredibly weak, busy to the point of incoherence and all leading up to the dumbest part of any superhero show, where the characters fight each other without motivation. They needed more interactions between Supergirl and the others to establish themselves as a team at all, as she's most notably…
This wasn't a great episode, but I did appreciate the reminder that the actress playing Genevieve is hilarious.
Great review, and a very fair evaluation of the strengths and weaknesses of this lovely but uneven show.
I really appreciate this comment!
I just want to echo the point that there were in fact many viewers who did think Kara & James had great chemistry and were upset about the ending of that relationship.
Disagree with you re Mon-El v James, but oh, I feel the struggle with Lena's American accent. It doesn't help that she's playing the character with almost the exact same tics as she did Morgana on Merlin, and that she also had distracting accent problems there.
Have you watched Lost Girl?
I thought that humans were the only species on the show that Kryptonians didn't have prior contact with, and so they just hadn't been built into the virus as a target.
In other words, "You drooled."
Speaking of which, whatever happened to Winn bugging Lena and tapping her phone lines? That thread was awkwardly dropped.
Given that the entire sequence was set in Xo's subconscious and was re-enacting her memories of rewatching Grease, I think it worked.
My favorite part was the show remembering that Rafael had cancer, and that his obsessive workouts were actually rooted in a deeper character trait. Always nice to see with Rafael.
Yes, I get that it's hard to catch every little detail, but I'm always surprised when a recap misses something like that.
This episode was a slow build, but it wound up being so great! I loved exploring the many ways that life is different, especially how Xo and Alba re-configure their dynamic in Jane's absence, and Jane and Michael getting a realistic fight over money. And I love any developments that give Alba real plot lines, and her…
I thought that was from several episodes ago—I recognized it but it didn't seem recent.
And yet I laugh every time!
Best bit of the episode.
God, I missed this show! And this was a great episode.
