This video was a lie. I learned a lot about Asia in my high school history classes: for example, there was a thing called the Ming Dynasty, and it happened at some point during the history of Asia.

I'd say it's equally about our absorption with the anecdotal. The "icons" aren't necessarily dying off faster…we're just more apt to remember the recent ones as more pronounced or frequent than the older ones.

I think I've heard this exact line virtually every single year since internet comment sections were born.

I can't believe 3.4 million or so 9 year olds were allowed to stay up that far past their bedtime!

As a proud owner of a copy of this film on VHS (somewhere in the garage, anyway), I'm afraid I must inform you that you WILL fail, Mr. Beitz. Surrender now.

Okay, well, SPOILER ALERT: Despite being set in the United Kingdom, Margaret Thatcher will not be in the upcoming reboot of "24."

As terrible as this is for American decency, let's be real here…who DOESN'T want to see George Zimmerman get punched in the face repeatedly?
