The sound editing really makes this. Nice use of ambient crowd sound, and subtle sound effects for chair movements and paper rustling. Great Sound Editing Job, Internet!

Geez, what a trainwreck of an episode. There were a couple standout moments - the Jay-Z story was particularly great, and Casablanca was Kate McKinnon being awesome as per usual - but I did a literal facepalm when Che bombed his FIRST LINE. I really liked this episode, if only because of a couple GREAT sketches. Wishin' Boot had me in tears from laughing and that NEVER happens with SNL. The boot with the knife and the boot on the phone were the best parts. Oh, and "The wishin' boot is IN YOU!" as though they needed an extra line in the last chorus and

It's true that she does seem one-trick. But Sasheer pretty much bombed the whole ex-girlfriend sketch. She didn't look at Che nearly enough and none of her line readings were believable (at least to me).

I was watching with a friend and at the end of that sketch he said "geez, I hate to be the one to point it out, but he seems to have had a bit of a wardrobe malfunction."

Am I the only one who thought the sound mixing was absolutely terrible on the Bushwick sketch? I couldn't make out almost anything they were saying.

I liked this episode a lot. It didn't have huge laughs, but it felt well-worn and comfy like a favorite pair of socks. Also, tons of callbacks to previous episodes/events.

I feel like it's both. Simpsons has been somewhat loose about continuity, but not TOO loose.
