Well, I mean — that is a show ABOUT pregnancy. I hate pregnancy as a plot turn in a show that otherwise has nothing to do with birthing babies.

Anyone without a terminal degree would have to be someone on an EXTREMELY accomplished level, with published books, prestigious awards and fellowships, real name recognition, etc.
LOL. Those who are "working toward advanced degrees" (graduate students) while teaching classes are TAs. What does a "full prof" mean to you, anyhow?
Many of those "teachers" were not full professors with affiliated positions, I am sure, and I'll bet a lot of 'em were TAs, too. Around 50% of profs are adjunct, which means they make about as much as a McDonald's cashier, and get little or no benefits.
PhDs with published books on Internet-writing theory would have been desperate for that job. Not realistic at all.
Um, no, she really wasn't.
Good God, yes, what the hell WAS that? That scene was absolutely terrible.
Yes, exactly.
My biggest problem with this finale is that it was extremely boring. I never really expected the finale of this series would be focused on breastfeeding issues and the like. That shit is really snoozy for anyone who isn't a parent, and it is SO not what the often searingly satirical Girls was ever about.
Yeah, it would have been a terrible way to end the show. Last week was, apparently, Jessa's last appearance. Shoshanna's as well. I've heard tonight's finale will focus only on Hannah and Marnie (Marnie — ugh).
That is a HUGE stretch, but it honestly just doesn't work. The whole season is deep, deep, sweltering, heatstroke, tank tops at night summertime. Girls films during the summertime, and they just didn't even pretend that seasons were passing. It's very distracting.
I knew there was no way they were going to have Jessa be pregnant — TWO pregnant girls would just be ridiculous.
No, it was a different wig/hairstyle. Apparently, the final episode is going to be a flash-forward.
The entire season has been deep, shorts-and-tanks-wearing summer. Every single episode throughout her entire pregnancy, not a bit of a season change. Just sweltering hot summer. It doesn't work.
Ehhh, nahhh — when has Eljah ever been able to keep his mouth closed? He doesn't care about social norms and keeping secrets, etc.
And Elijah, who lives with our protagonist and is a gossip queen, would not have mentioned this to Hannah?
And yet — it's STILL summertime. Hannah is late in her pregnancy, and the season has NEVER changed, even though her child was CONCEIVED in the summertime.
I think Shosh is going to have several marriages. This one will just be her quick and dirty first time at bat. She'll be fine.
I think they may have changed that Elijah storyline, because, from what I recall, the first time he appeared on the show was as her ex COLLEGE boyfriend, and she was seeing him for the first time since they graduated.
It's really bizarre. Perhaps it's some kind of comment on climate change? They live in a New York that is now just like South Florida?
