It's ABC's fault the ratings are poor. They've always done such a bad job of promoting it and they can never settle on a night to air it. Last season it was on Wednesday. I can't remember what night Season 1 was on. Maybe it needs to be on a different network.

I agree that the show would be better if it ran for at least 12 episodes. All the other shows that don't run a full season (Homeland, Shameless) run for 12 episodes.

Not as much sense as it would if Claire was the abuser.

I don't believe the self harm theory either.

She is not a servant to him, she's a servant to his wife. He never asked for her to come into his home. He can't interact with her because they don't speak the same language. He ignores her just like he ignores Nicky, except for that little game he played with them.

Yes, the animosity is having an effect on Nicky, but he's not the one hurting her.

Whoa! You're reading way too much into it. He's not the one hurting her okay? Didn't you see the scene where Claire put the tea kettle on and then we cut to Gabrielle with a panicked look on her face? Do the math.

Ok, I'm only going to respond the the first paragraph of your post.

That's another way of looking at it, But Nicky doing anything beyond hitting is a stretch. Also, it could just be that he is spoiled by Claire because he's her Miracle Baby and she never set any boundaries for him.

You're getting the name Tim Hutton's Character in Season 2 confused with his character's name this season. I had to think for a minute, Russ?

Nicholas would have no reason to be abusive toward Gabrielle or to interact with her at all. If he's abusive, it would be toward Nicky since he's technically not his son. And if he is abusing Nicky, I can see it as more psychological or verbal rather than physical. Gabrielle putting herself in front of Nicky could be

But would Nicky know how boil a tea kettle and use it to hurt someone? Besides, when Gabrielle left and took him with her, he went willingly and didn't seem to have any animosity toward her.

Maybe she once was in that category.

That is part of her job but it would be unprofessional of her to just dump that on Shae at that time. She first needed to think about how she would approach the subject with Shae the next time they saw each other.

And they never bring up adoption either.

I think if she does leave, it'll be because it's not the fast easy money her friend made it seem and she leaves on her own. The guy only talked about tips, not base pay, so you know he's the only one making any real money. Either that, or she's going to be asked to perform some degrading sex act that she doesn't want

That's true. But this time, Coy purposely chose to OD in the middle of nowhere because there was less likelihood of someone who has and can administer the narcan would find him. The whole point was that at the one time he didn't want to be saved, someone came and saved him.

Coy probably wouldn't have lived through the OD. The point of that whole scene is that all the other times he OD, he took it for granted that he would be saved. He even guaranteed it by getting high outside the firehouse. But when he really wanted to die, here come the paramedics again to save him.

Don't forget Facts of Life. When they started airing that I was like wtf?

That was my favorite part.
