"It's interesting how what is supposed to be a humanizing, even amusing
touch in one language winds up feeling like another nod to grimdark
cynicism in another."
Never though I would get excited for a Cloverfield sequel but this looks really promising. At least they have an interesting concept behind it, rather than a typical unnecessary sequel escalation and a bigger monster. Plus Goodman, Mary Elizabath.
While this certainly confirms a lot of suspicions that fans had going into those films, I don't think that Jackson can be let completely off the hook for this one. It's easy to believe the "it's all greedy hollywood honchos fault" line of thinking after seeing shots of poor, tired, shirveled-haired PJ in that video,…
The special features showed only a part of the process and the prosthetics there, while more extensive than the final product, where not as involved as the one with JRD, and the result was much more uncomfortably "middle of the road". Weta Chronicles books showed that they experimented with a full on "fat dwarf"…
This doesn't bode well for the film.
*something, something fourth Hobbit movie*
Take him seriously? Have you played the games? They keep making fun of his shtick and stuckupedness all the time.
When it comes to Toad Prince fight in the sewers, just remember about Yrden sign, that's all I am going to say.
Continuing adventures in Phantom Pain after a longer break. Now I don't know if it's becouse of the poor pacing, lackluster story in the first chapter, the repetition of the sidemissions or just the overal lenght of the game, but serious player's fatigue has started to creep in. And that's despite the fantastic…
At this point I doubt that fucking it up is something we have to worry about here. Creating a competent adventure film true to the spirit of New Hope, shouldn't really be that difficult and I am pretty confident they can easily pull it off at this basic level. An allright adventure film elevated by the sentiment of…
Don't get me wrong - I don't think that making a new trilogy that's close to the spirit of "New Hope" is really all that difficult, and I am reasonably confident they will pull it off at this basic level. But there is definitely potential for more, especially for films that are being touted as the next biggest thing…
Oh don't get me wrong - they'll get my Hasbro Toy money.
That's one of the things I am worried about - whether JJ's nostalgia-googles have clouded his judgment. Seeing familiar themes and sights normally wouldn't bother me too much, after all it's not the first franchise to be reusing thematic and visual elements that are part of the setting's DNA. But it's JJ's fanboy…
Absolutely. Like I said - everything about it so far looks just right and there is an aura of purpose and an awareness of what these films are supposed to be.
Everything about the production of this movie so far looks right and has the right feel to it. The optimism is there, the feeling that people behind the camera know what they are doing, as is the palpable need and want to create something monumental and worthy of a new generation of moviegoers.
Britta filters are the worst. Just the worst.
A producer aproached Ridley two months before "Prometheus" release, and provided him with documented evidence that the script made no sense. He was promptly told that it was too late to do anything about it.
I thought he had decent amount of voice work if You count his lines in all the cassette tapes.
Am I the only one who actually preferes Kiefer's understated performance?
