I really wish the show hadn't killed the Waynes in the beginning. I would have love to see them as supporting characters throughout the series. I think developing them as characters before killing them would have made their deaths even more effective. Look at how well "Flashpoint" made them interesting.

(The animation takes a bit of a dip in “Long Way To Morning,” but it’s
nowhere near as bad as some of this season’s previous installments.)
