I think fawning over any aspect of this reboot is like desperately finding something to like in a mess of modern art squiggles just because you made the effort to go to the museum. I hope Lynch at least had fun making this.

I don't get that sense of progress at all. For all we know his 'cop's instincts' were there when he first emerged as Dougie only we didn't get to see them until he was attacked. He's still as catatonic now as he was then, still repeating last words spoken to him.

I don't see any evidence that Cooper is 'surfacing'. I see no progress at all since he emerged as Dougie. Yes there are glimpses of recognition but it's not like we were ever presented with the same images sans recognition. I don't know what to expect with this character but I

Mortality is interesting, magic is not. Jon back from the dead made this a lesser show IMO.
