Oh, you just reminded me about Forgotbusters.
Oh, you just reminded me about Forgotbusters.
Oh totally. I love It's Always Sunny; I just see a lot of people taking the wrong thing away from the show and thinking that behavior is charming or creating comedy framing such behavior as okay.
Same goes with the bro culture surrounding It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Most of the humor hinges on normal people being horrified by their behavior or their own hubris being their demise, but a lot of people interpret it as "it's funny to be a shitty drunk."
I wish they hadn't jumped ahead to Batman having retired.
I'm completely with you and them on that; I think reviewers get copies far enough in advance, but I can't imagine speed-reading a book that I'll have to competently explain my feelings on and qualitatively grade.
I loved when the Best Show brought a lawyer in and determined that a court would've nailed him for "rape by deception."
I wish the AV Club in general had more book reviews. I can't imagine pumping through a book in a week to get a timely review out, and the literary world is so wide-flung that it's hard to cover a representative swath of what's out there for consumption.
I know we'll never get one, but I'd so very love to see a Star War or Marvel Movie that clocked in at a brisk 88 minutes.
Ladies and gentlemen, when I say I'm a mole man, I think you'll agree.
I feel like you're conflating my saying it takes skills to write eminently readable books for half a century with Rob Lowe's assertion that King *may* go down in history as the greatest American author. I'd like to make it clear that I'm not Rob Lowe. Seems like a mistake lots of people are making these days.
That comment really made me giggle.
Then again, I'm totally flipping on doses.
Yeah. I'm beginning to think I'm Jason Patric.
King ain't no words master by a long stretch, but I'd reckon his ability to pump out great stories that reach so many corners of a rather vast pool of readers (and even manage to be an author non-readers enjoy) is a testament to his skill.
You could probably narrow down which one he was based on his ability to stay golden.
I was literally thinking the same thing.
I enjoyed those until the millionth one when I realized that the host is indeed reading an ad, considering CAH could've just given money and not requested ad time.
Wait, so you're telling me Ralph Fiennes doesn't do an impression of the Schindler's List nazi? The Lego Batman Movie, you just lost yourself a customer.
It's heartening to see Cards Against Humanity continue its relentless advertising campaign in which it constantly shoves its unwillingness to advertise down my throat.
I don't believe Lee critiques GTA in that film. Gangstas iz Genocide, on the other hand, suffers a harsh indictment.
People say this every week, but the post-FMU Best Show has really hit its stride over the last year, which has been very welcome in this parallel universe we've found ourselves in recently. I usually space out the three-hour podcast over the entire week, but I've been gobbling down every ep the moment it downloads…
