Perhaps I'm the only one, but I find River's schtick tiresome and off-putting. I'm at a loss to understand her appeal. The fact that she heads off to the library next is a relief. No surprise that this episode didn't work for me.

Does it really "illustrate the strength of the source material" if it requires another musician creating a transformative interpretation which strips the "radio-ready gloss" away to make the songs seem real, honest and relatable? Adams' interpretation elevates the source material as opposed to highlighting it.
