Somebody posted somewhere that they were Sony SAIT-1 500GB tapes. SAIT came 2003-2006, so 2005, the year Samaritan was shut down, is the correct time period for what would have been high capacity backup tapes. My only quibble is that you can't really completely destroy it by stomping on it (tape is quite resilient).

And that's so interesting… the two admins are the guy whose lost faith and refers to the Machine as "he" and the zeolot who refers to the Machine as "she". I love this show.

A good entry point if you don't want to start at the very beginning, is catching the first episode (16) with Shaw in Season 2 ("Relevance", which gives a great outsider POV of the show), then watch S3 from the beginning (summer reruns would be a good time to do that).

Those were my two favorite ones as well.Ep4 is what really sold me on PoI. I also loved "Number Crunch" and "Super" (the latter which was just a number of the week but it was so good and they even threw in a little homage to Hitchcock's "Rear Window" just for good measure). The end of S1 where Fusco and Carter finally
