I disagree about the sugar move being unnecessary. Sandra knew that JT wanted her out but was annoyed with Michaela, so she did something to amuse Varner , and to make JT focus on his dislike of Mchaela rather than her. It may have been the move that pushed JT's focus off voting out Sandra.
