I think there was something in the original article mentioned the clarity as to which chef was better as an editing problem. What your describing as an "editing" fail might have nothing to do with editing. You assume all the judging takes place on camera, and it doesn't.

Where was the editing FAIL in the finale, exactly? Was it in not knowing clearly which chef did a better job? Isn't that one of the major goals of editing these shows, to not give away the winner until it's revealed?
