I really hope we see more of Mia. Phoebe Neidhardt brings just the right balance between being sweet and being terrifying.

This from someone who by his own admission called a child 'ugly'. Aren't you lucky to have this brave defender, 'ladies'?

Well, that is a disgusting comment to make.

The inability of the writer of this article and many/most in the comment section to understand why someone might object to this without hating women (being a 'neckbeard'/'frothing'/crying 'male tears'/etc.) shows you're wrong. I mean, because I tend towards the androgynous I was accused of beating up my female

I agree entirely about what you say say about little girls. I'd just add that the sort of division promoted by this article scared the hell out of at least one little boy and that my hope is that little girls and boys will one day not care about the sex of their role models.

I'm pleased there's a film like this and I'm glad you're happy. Really. Your comment made me want it to be good and from what I hear it is. I'll watch it when it comes on the telly, like I did Deadpool and a couple of the Avengers films. I won't pay for it when I can use that money for alcohol or animal charities

Fair enough in general, but this does, in a small way, have societal implications that going to a midnight screening doesn't. As I said long ago in the depths of this thread when the world was young 'For me it's more about not wanting to be associated with other men simply because I'm male.' And when your polite

That is a vile thing to say. You are contemptible.

Noooo. It would be horrible, too. Well, it would be worse because, you know, the Fast and the Furious.

See, you can't accept any disagreement or polite discussion. Which is part of the reason why this is all so sad, despite starting with a silly little stunt. It's all representative of the Twitter politics of buzzwords and showing members of your group that you belong. That you're not one of the bad ones.

I like Audrey Tautou movies and Meryl Streep is the woman. Most of my friends are women. That's why I think this is all a sad, silly way to behave.

So it's important if you think it's a good thing but unimportant if you don't?

And I think it should be said that quite a lot of the disagreement with the Alamo was polite, and was responded to with insults. Look at this Twitter thread, for example: https://twitter.com/KickAss…

The 'feminist' arguments being presented here are verging on saying
that women have no influence on anything. At the moment men are still
more influential in your country's party politics (quite different to
saying women play no part) but there is a lot more to life. Women still
play the greater role in child-rearing

And everyone complaining about the complaints? Everyone commenting on an entertainment site? You're as annoyed as anyone, aren't you?

Saying something is a fact doesn't make it so, Katie Hopkins.

I don't think disagreeing with the shibboleths of a political sect should be equated with dividing people into groups based on race, sex, sexuality etc. I'm all for political dialogue and straddling political boundaries but that doesn't mean agreeing with something you think is nonsense.

Fair enough. I should have specified that my comments about name calling weren't about you but the thread and fuss as a whole.
For myself I do experience this as inequality - not serious inequality in itself but a small part of a worldview exemplified by SleepyGary below, which does little to help the problems of

Get ball-rot, Eugen.

So you're saying that Ladies Nights are examples of progressive thinking?
