Hmmmm, reading the casting of ScarJo as intentional on the part of the filmmakers to make a statement on racial/national identity is a real generous deep dive that I certainly didn't pick up on in the movie. I think Ignatiy is providing a much more subtle interpretation of what I suspect was just a studio conversation

So the evil mega-corporation LITERALLY appropriates the mind of a Japanese woman to create a fantastical super-powered white woman. It's pretty mind-boggling that no one in the entire production apparently thought that might be a problematic metaphor.
