I should point out to be fair though, most of the Belters we meet in the books who aren't Holden and Co's friends and associates are radical OPA hardliners. I'm sure 99% of the population who exist outside of that limited window are perfectly fine folk. However, they do have a tendency to breed prodigious assholes.

because at least earth and mars have some class and self-respect when they do their fucked up shit. Plus if you read the books, the OPA belters are pretty much the worst people in existence.

meh, even in the books I'm not overly fond of them

you havent read the books have you?

See belters, this is why nobody likes you. Nine out of ten of you are irredeemable scumbags

even in the books, they are 90% assholes and garbage people, then they wonder why everyone else treats them like asshole garbage people

I think that's how posh people in England get pregnant.

this is the most accurate description of the character I have ever heard. A solo series would be good for her, she needs some real, non-expository character introduction and development

Wait, so should I be reading a lot more into people picking lint off of me than I have been? Have I been in several relationships and not known about them?

Wait, is he one of those "end-credit Hollywood Shapiros"?

I honestly believe Ben Shapiro has a severe form of Asperger's that causes him to fixate and center himself on hyper-conservative viewpoints. The one time I heard him speak for an extended period of time he immediately reminded me of my autistic sister.

But Dawes and co are banking on both planets wiping each other out, at which point the belters would also die. their little rocks and space stations aren't exactly bountiful biospheres. the first hiccup in the system would wipe them out without earth and mars to sustain them

Set it in modern times, make Aladdin a shawarma delivery boy, the Sultan is the local warlord/sheik, and Jafar is his corrupt CIA advisor who dabbles in mysticism.

Oh man, the McDonald's moon dude used to give me the creeps as a kid

So, I can't be the only one who clicked on this thinking it was somehow season two of the FX show. lol

Can't we acknowledge that she is (likely) morally repugnant AND find her bangable? I don't see why the two things need to be related.

An adorable, charismatic mini-murderer emoji

I think they're more like the shittier, non-cannibal varieties of Wildlings from Game of Thrones

I find the Belters sympathetic on an individual level, but in the aggregate? Not so much. Although, as you pointed out it's one of the things that make the Expanse such a compelling and believable story

But even later on in the books when they finally get organized, they're still violent short sighted space-savages.
