Theatre being a the preserve of elitest snobs is a modern idea. And a very disturbing one the longer you think about it. There's a book called The Shakespeare Riots which details examples of gold prospectors and riverboat crews reading and performing Shakespeare. Why? Because they loved it. And because they didn't

This allows for a reading where the play shows it's wrong to prosecute people for their beliefs, though. If someone wants to be a communist they shouldn't be burned at the stake for that.

Well put. My initial reaction to the headline was to think that Trump as Caesar is an ill-fit because Caesar in the play is an intelligent and clever leader. However, having read more and seen what they're actually doing, I think it's insightful and also a message that is needed right now. Trump is still an ill-fit

    They Shoot Gorillas, Don't They?

Coincidentally we are more closely related to chimps than to gorillas.

At one point, I genuinely wondered for a second if CGI had progressed to the point where they had added a fake baby in a couple of scenes. The faces he pulls are amazingly perfect for the scene. There's a scene between Debbie and her husband in a later episode and the baby is just looking between them with its mouth

Yep. I've finished the series (no spoilers - don't worry) and I don't think there's an actress or actor who puts a foot wrong. It's what kept me watching a show that is fairly low key on emotional arcs and actual plot, the fact that the characters were so very well acted. All of them are strong.

I couldn't help but read that in Lego Batman voice.

I don't think I could add anything to all of that other than "Amen".

Oh good lord, yes. It doesn't entirely change my point but I'd never realised the impact on my reaction of precisely what you've just highlighted. If they even made him just a little bit more craggy-masculine it would help a lot. But you're right. He always goes from fearsome beast to chinless wonder. It's like we've

I think it could be fine with her as a cop, but you're wrong about any number of months or years being allowed between seasons. Flash has to keep rough pace with Arrow and Supergirl so unless all seasons jumped, Flash is constrained by that.

I don't know if it will be better with Chloe knowing the truth, but I do know that I can't stand her remaining in ignorance much longer.

    >>Why did linda oppose charlotte? She knew she had no chance to win that
fight. This is very poor judgement on her part. Or bad writing by the
author who wants people to suffer for silly reasons. God complex much?

Yes, that was a nice touch. I particularly like the impication of "Let there be light" that Charlotte's luminous form is the creation of that new universe, the Big Bang if you will. They did describe her as going to "explode".

It was Koshiel, Angel of Suckerpunches.

Spoiler tags are done by putting the word spoiler in between '<' and '>' characters with no spaces between the arrows and the word. To close the spoiler you do the same but put a / immediately before the word 'spoiler'. Just like an HTML tag.

Many people have a very limited tolerance for child characters. Younger viewers, especially.

Getting married for women in a comic book, is like being two weeks away from retirement in a cop movie.

Whilst respecting different tastes, I want the exact opposite. Mainly because this has always been a Batman show in disguise and this would be like Batman & Robin, or Damien.

It's been said that having two versions of the Suicide Squad would confuse people. Which of course it wouldn't save for very stupid people. I wonder if the greater problem would be simply that the Arrow Suicide Squad would be better than the movie ones.
