Ward knows Danny is telling the truth as soon as Danny starts talking about their childhood in the car. You can see it. The fact that Ward doesn't want to say that it's Danny and wants to get him out of the picture asap is a whole different matter.

They could have done more comedy interaction between Danny and his assistant Meghan as well. "Meghan - do you think anybody would mind if I road my skateboard through the lobby?"

I tuned out of Luke Cage and couldn't get through it. This I watched all of. So I guess it's better than Luke Cage. Can't approach DD Season 1, though. Or even DD Season 2, imo, which I thought wasn't nearly as good as Season 1 but still had a great deal to like about it.

Yep. My hiearchy of blame on this goes as follows:
Writing - bad dialogue, nonsense plotting and logic.
Directing - mediocre.
Acting - okay to good.
